Minimum age for entry 18.
This is a demanding course based on the traditional values of classical acting which are adapted to suit the needs of contemporary media. It is a practical, not theoretical, course which aims to equip you with all the skills, knowledge and expertise you need as a dynamic and courageous actor. The training is very much student-centred, and we offer a creative and supportive environment which allows you individual attention and pushes you to realise your full potential.
For the first two and a half years of the course, the School’s idyllic setting allows you to focus on your development as an actor. The final term concludes with a London season, where you will rehearse and perform. Moving to London means you will be where most employment opportunities for actors start.
75% of students on our Three Year Diploma in Acting Course in 2008/9 receive a Government Dance and Drama Award. These awards are available to both undergraduate and postgraduate students and they lower the course fees to just £1,250 (figure for 2008/9). They also enable students to apply for a means-tested grant to live on.
